Debating success in the first round of the ESU Schools' Mace
On Thursday the 11th November, Ines, Lola, Martha and Frida (all Year 12) took part in the ESU Schools' Mace debating competition, which took place virtually.
They provided fierce competition, putting forward excellent questions in the earlier debates: "This House Believes That artists have a moral duty to be political in their work" and "This House would require fathers to take paternity leave", before they stood as the opposition for the motion "This House would make fines for criminal and civil offences proportionate to the wealth of the offender".
They did excellently, and received high praise from the judge for their energy and overall performance, winning themselves a place in the regional finals. A huge well done to the whole team - you've made us all very proud.
